Ministries

Nursery

Everyone loves a clean, spacious, beautifully-equipped church nursery. Our nursery is all of that and more. It is one of our most complimented departments and Moms love it! To see it is to appreciate it.

From the moment you enter our nursery area, you will get a sense of a caring and loving environment which stems from our dedicated and trained nursery staff. Low teacher-to-child ratios are maintained to ensure attention to your child’s needs.

From infants to three years of age, children are provided with toys and activities perfect for their stage of development. Our nursery workers provide a clean and safe environment with a state of the art paging system, so parents can have peace of mind while they attend one of the adult Bible classes or one of the worship services.

Children

Everywhere you turn at Bay View Baptist, you will see children. Reaching their tender hearts for God is our mission. Age and gender specific Sunday School classes have been developed to teach and train our children the Word of God.

King’s Kids Club meets every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. and is designed for kids in the 1st-6th grade. The King’s Kids Program was developed by our pastor over 30 years ago and is now in over 2,600 churches across the United States and in more than 100 countries.

Power Club is our Sunday Morning Children’s Church, meeting during the 10:00 a.m. service for all kids in the 1st-6th grade. Flyers Club is for boys and girls ages 3 to 5 and meets every Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Our Junior Choir (1st-8th grade) meets every Sunday at 4:45 p.m.

Youth

The Bay View Baptist Youth Ministry is an exciting program for young people in the 7th-12th grade. Our goal is to see teenagers saved, baptized, and serving God with their lives. Our Teen Sunday School classes are divided between guys and girls.

Teen Soul Winning meets every Wednesday from 4:00-6:20 p.m., going door-to-door inviting people to church and presenting the gospel. TRAC (Teens Redeemed and Called) meets every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m.

Fellowship is a key ingredient in a Christian’s life. Young people at Bay View Baptist Church enjoy summer camp and conferences, seasonal retreats, mission trips, outreach events, fun activities, and many other opportunities to grow in God’s Word.

Adult

The Sunday school ministry of Bay View Baptist Church is designed to connect you with a class that is relevant to your current stage of life. With five different adult classes to choose from, you are sure to find a teacher and class members who will help you get connected. Adult Bible class time is 9:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.

Classes are taught by Pastor Brett Bedwell (Auditorium), Pastor Jayson Garcia (Room 112), Attorney Jon Wright (Room 109), Brother Joe Mitchell (Room 110), and Brother Jim Reigle (Assembly Room 2).

Yearly activities include the Adult Valentine Banquet, Ladies Spring Luncheon, Men’s Golf Outing, Men and Boys Outing, Ladies Shopping Trip, and Family Christmas Brunch.

Retirees (Good Timers)

Our Good Timers love to get together, love to eat and love to take trips. Meeting twice a month, the Good Timers Retirees Program is “just what the doctor ordered” and much more! Overseen by one of our pastors, you are sure to greatly enjoy this ministry if you are in your retirement years!

Activities include Day Trips, Holiday Dinners, Miniature Golf, Overnight Trips, Picnics, Fellowship Dinners, Museum Tours, and Shopping Trips.

Music

God has blessed our church with many talented people who serve in the music ministry. When you come to our services, you will hear a great variety of vocal and instrumental music. We are always looking for new singers, new instrumentalists, and new opportunities.

It’s a great program in which to participate or to just sit back and experience. Your heart will be lifted and encouraged with Christ-honoring music! “Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.” (Psalm 100:2)

Bus Ministry

For over 50 years, Bay View Baptist Church has shown its love for people by operating a bus ministry. This means that every Sunday, we send buses out into the community to pick up people for church. We bring people in of all ages and from all walks of life.

They enjoy worshiping with us and participating in one or more of our great programs. You can find out if we have a bus route in your area by calling (309) 698-2000.

Getting Involved

If you have recently visited our church or are considering a visit soon, we would be thrilled to meet you and welcome you into our family of faith. Below are the simple, yet vitally important steps in becoming a part of our church.

Salvation is God’s free gift to mankind, offered through Jesus Christ. Once we have accepted God’s free gift of salvation, the Bible commands us to signify that decision with Baptism. Membership in the local church provides an atmosphere of community, encouragement, acceptability, and commitment. The next step is to Grow and Serve — to get involved and discover your purpose in extending God’s love to others.
